San Gimignano, one of the best preserved medieval towns in all Italy, awaits the visitors eager to climb one of its famous towers, visit one of the many interesting museums, or just stroll along the narrow streets looking at the many craftsmen s’ workshops.
Visiting the main church, the Collegiata, you will be surprised by the most beautiful frescoes on its walls, depicting scenes of the Old and New Testament and also a scary representation of the Hell! You certainly want to behave after seeing that!

The Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a DOCG white wine produced in this territory since the XII century. Dante Alighieri talks about it in his Divina Commedia, in the 6th terrace of the Purgatory, where the gluttonous are purged.
